Dear Friend, The Punjabi Virsa sports Association has been proud to introduce the sport of kabaddi to our diverse New york city Communities for the last three years one of our goals is to raise awareness about Punjabi culture and to foster a greater sense of community between South Asian immigrants and the greater New york City community . In 2010. our Kabaddi tournament was featured in the New York Times,leading to greater interest in our sports,culture and community.

Over the last three years,we have worked to include a variety of new features to our events to make sure that our wider New York City community can participate and appreciate not only the athletic dynamics of the event.we have taken great pride in facilitating greater participation and representation by women as participants and observers, inviting distinguishing leaders and role models from the south Asian and American communities , providing activities for children,while also featuring community artists and cultural entertainment.

Punjabi Virsa sports Association strives to deliver a unique and groundbreaking event each year . In the 2010 championship., we held the first ''womens " kabaddi match in New York State.In bringing such unprecedented events to our community , we hope to inspire remarkable sportsmanship and leadership.

we have worked with hundreds of community organizations, businesses and leaders to put these events together while also working new and emerging youth groups.Each year,our goal is to provide a more diverse and dynamic events so that our participants can reflect the diversity of our New York City based organization.
